CRESSKILL – There are no smiles when Cresskill and Park Ridge girls basketball teams play. No pleasantries are exchanged unless within the confines of sportsmanship and even then, it’s done with a chilly, tight-lipped demeanor.
Four quarters of gritty defense and opportunistic scoring ended with the Cougars (21-7) pulling out a 34-31 win over the Owls (18-10) on Saturday to advance to the North 1, Group 1 sectional final to defend their sectional title.
